These are the House Rules that we expect all members of our Community to follow at all times when communicating on our platform. Failure to follow one, or more of these may result in your account being muted; temporarily or permanently banned from the Community.
Be nice and respect other peoples opinions
Just because someone has a different point of view to you doesn’t make them wrong, or a bad person.
Mind your P’s and Q’s
We expect everyone using our forum to feel safe and not afraid to share their own opinion; however, this said, we expect it to be polite and courteous, without the use of foul language or slurs against another person’s race, language, age, pronouns, gender or sexuality.
We love positivity - in fact, this is the secret ingredient in our morning cuppa - we encourage you to share positive feedback about Vitra, or other people. Posting negatively publicly doesn’t help situations, and you should take up any problems with the relevant person.
Even though we are sure you have a lot to say (which we love), it is important to not spam topics with replies as it can make it difficult for others when they come to read it. You have a grace period of approximately 5-10 minutes where you can edit your post to add more replies. You can also quote multiple people within 1 reply. As we become a more and more active community, we will be merging duplicate posts in a topic without warning users. However, towards the end of the year, users who continually post duplicate posts despite the editing grace period, may receive official warnings from our Moderating team. This is to assist in making the community an easy to read and follow place for new users.
Stay on topic
When replying to a topic, bear in mind that you should stay on that topic when replying to it. If you want to speak about something else, make a new topic. This will help new comers to the Community when they search for answers to questions.
Once you reach a certain level within the Community, you will be able to edit posts marked as ‘Wiki’; when doing so, please remember that a wiki is similar to Wikipedia, and should be used for relevant information only. Falsely editing or changing wikis unnecessarily will have the privilege revoked as these posts are helpful for new comers.
Should we unfortunately have to take any kind of moderation or sanction action against you, you should under no circumstance discuss this with other users of the Community. The reason(s) we take such action(s) are between the Moderation/Admin teams and yourself.
Advertising/3rd Party Linking
Advertising is prohibited within our Community. The likes of posting a 3rd party link to a fundraising round for a competitor, or in general to 3rd party websites that you cannot be sure are safe, should not be posted. This is to protect you and other Community users from scams.
Personal Identifiable Information (PII)
Under no circumstance should you post any information that could put you, or another person in harm, and this includes PII. PII includes for example; your address, bank account number, email address and passwords. If a post of yours contains something the team deem to be PII of nature, we may temporarily remove the part and reach out to you.
As our Community grows, more newcomers will come. Some of them may not be au fait with how this type of Community forum works, or may find it hard to navigate slightly. Be sure to welcome new comers, and offer them any support should they need it!
